Caregiver Types
All caregivers areConsidered Independent Contractors
All caregivers are considered Independent Contractors. Independent contractor means that the caregiver is paid directly by you, the client. Caregivers are trained yearly on care for Dementia, Parkinson’s, and Fall Prevention. All caregivers are meticulously screened; this includes an in-depth face to face interview, an extensive background check including a criminal background verification, and proper documentation necessary for licensing. They provide complementary technology training for clients, allowing them to stay up to date on current events and connect with family members. All caregivers are directed to follow physician orders as instructed and report any changes in condition to family members and our office. All caregivers are required to take training once a year provided by True Vine Home Care, to keep them up to date with new care techniques pertaining to Alzheimer’s, Dementia, Proper lifting and body mechanics, and all up to date infectious disease precaution training.
Personal Care Attendants (PCA)
Personal Care Attendants, are responsible for light cleaning, cooking, running errands, and doing laundry, as well as assisting clients with other personal tasks. They engage clients in activities like reading, talking, and playing games.
Home Health Aids (HHA)
HHA’s are certified home health aides that complete a training program of no less than seventy-five hours and a competency evaluation. HHA’s are responsible for supporting clients by providing housekeeping and laundry services, shopping for food and other household items, preparing meals and snacks, and companionship. Assists clients by providing personal services, such as, bathing, dressing, grooming and medication reminders.
Certified Nurse’s Assistant (CNA)
Certified Nurse’s Assistant, must attend programs that are at least 100 hours and are coordinated by RNs who have experience in long-term care. A Connecticut CNA must take the certification examination based on a CNA program approved by the state. CNA’s oversee medication reminders and patient vital signs. CNA’s also provide personal services such as bathing dressing and hygiene care. CNAs can deal with incontinence care and ambulatory assistance. Provide clean and safe homes for clients, including light housekeeping, meal preparation and participating with client in leisure activities and transportation to run errand, attend appointments and remain engaged in their communities.
Live In aide
A live in aide resides with the client in their home, providing a 24 hours presence. They are responsible for assisting clients with all activities of daily living, supporting clients by carrying out light housekeeping and laundry services, shopping for food and other household items, preparing meals and snacks, and companionship. Assists clients with personal services, such as, bathing, dressing, general hygiene and medication reminders, and transportation.
